Down 8% in One Month, Imerys Share Rebounds 3% From Its Support Level
The industrial minerals specialist is bouncing back sharply mid-morning in a well-oriented Paris market. This renewed momentum comes after a difficult month and leaves the stock above its first short-term technical benchmarks.
A 3% Rebound That Brings the Price Back Into Contact With Its 20-Day Moving Average
The stock is gaining 3.01% to €22.58, while the CAC 40 is advancing 0.9% and the SBF 120 is up 0.94%. The 50-day MA (€23.47) remains 3.8% above the price, and the 200-day MA (€23.08) is 2.2% higher, so the rebound has not yet erased the 8.06% decline recorded over one month.
The increase therefore only serves to mitigate this monthly decline, particularly as the RSI at 36 remains close to the oversold zone. Higher up, resistance at €25.02 is located approximately 11% above the current price.
A Context of High French Rates and a Data Point Following First Half 2026 Results
The session is taking place as the 10-year OAT stands at 4.90% according to the latest reading from the Banque de France on October 8, at the level of the recent high for the series, with a spread of 1.40 points versus the Bund. Imerys published its first half 2026 results on July 30, with an EBITDA target of 565 million euros for the remainder of the fiscal year. On the construction side, a sector to which the company is exposed, business confidence in France came in at -17.2 in September according to Eurostat, compared to -6.1 for the entire European Union. The stock thus remains below its two major moving averages, and crossing above the 50-day MA at €23.47 constitutes the next benchmark to watch.
