DSM-Firmenich announced on August 18, 2026 that Thomas Leysen, chairman of the board of directors, has decided to withdraw from the board. The company states that the merger is now fully completed and the strategic direction has been set.
Thomas Leysen will step down from his roles as director and chairman once his successor is elected by shareholders, in order to devote more time to his other mandates, in companies as well as in non-profit organizations.

The board unanimously proposes Richard Ridinger, current independent director of DSM-Firmenich and member of the nomination and governance committee. German national, he has served on the board since 2023 and previously served on the Firmenich board from 2016 to 2023.
He was Chief Executive Officer of Lonza from 2012 to 2019 and currently holds the position of chairman of the supervisory board of Brenntag SE as well as chairman of the board of Recipharm AG. His appointment will be subject to shareholder approval at the extraordinary general meeting on October 19, 2026.
