Edenred Shares Climb 2.5%, Marking One of the Top Gains in the SBF 120
Edenred continues its upward momentum at the start of the week, in a stable Parisian market. The employee payment solutions specialist confirms its recovery since spring and ranks among the leaders of the SBF 120. The easing observed in short positions supports this movement.
A Rebound That Lifts the Stock Above Its Three Moving Averages
Edenred shares gain 2.5% to €24.16, among the strongest rises in the SBF 120 while the index itself only advanced by 0.14%. Over a month, the stock has recovered more than 16%, and nearly 31% over three months, erasing a good portion of the decline accumulated over the past year (-7.8%). The price is now above its three moving averages, with a gap of more than 20% from the MM200 (€20.07) confirming a fundamental trend reversal. The RSI at 58 remains in a neutral zone, allowing for the continuation of the movement without entering overbought territory. However, the stock still faces resistance at €24.23, tested during the session, whose breach would condition the continuation of the rebound.
A Marked Decline in Short Positions Accompanies the Stock Market Reconquest
The stock's dynamics are part of a rapid easing of bearish bets. According to reviewed statements, six funds still accumulate 4.91% of the capital sold short, but this level has melted by nearly 4 percentage points in a month (it was 8.88% thirty days ago). A reduction of this magnitude indicates significant covering of short positions, often associated with a forced buy-in movement that amplifies price increases. The residual stock remains high for an SBF 120 value, indicating that some participants maintain a cautious bias. This restructuring follows the sequence that began in mid-June, when the group confirmed it had been approached exploratorily by investment funds, an episode that had caused the stock to jump 15% before several sessions of digestion. Edenred also secured the Gold EcoVadis medal (score 84/100) for the second consecutive year, recognizing its extra-financial positioning. The next technical test remains the crossing of the €24.23 resistance.
