Electricité et Eaux de Madagascar: Cambodian Court Dismisses Pierre Ader's Appeal
Electricité et Eaux de Madagascar has announced that the Court of Appeal in Battambang, Cambodia, upheld on March 26, 2026, its decision dismissing Pierre Ader's appeal against the judgment rendered in the first instance. This decision is now final and conclusive.
The Battambang Court of Appeal confirmed the judgment of the Siem Reap First Instance Court in Cambodia, which dismissed Pierre Ader's claims. Acting on behalf of Victoria Angkor Estate Co., Ltd (VAE), Ader had demanded payment of allegedly unpaid rents since 2004 amounting to USD 898,744, as well as the return of the buildings of the Victoria Angkor Resort & Spa hotel and USD 1,000,000 in damages.
The case was initiated in August 2021 against Lopan Investment Co., Ltd, owned by the Cambodian subsidiary of EEM, Victoria Angkor Company Limited (VAK). The Siem Reap court had already dismissed Pierre Ader's claims in September 2023.
