Eurofins Scientific Shares Drop 1.5%, Facing Resistance at €71.10
The Luxembourg-based bioanalytical testing specialist loses ground in the Paris session, moving against a slightly bullish CAC 40. The decline occurs as Jefferies raises its price target while maintaining a negative outlook on the stock.
The Stock Drops 1.74%, Among the Most Notable Declines in the CAC 40
Eurofins Scientific shares fell 1.74% to €69.86, down from €71.10 the previous day, in a CAC 40 that is up 0.18% at 8,355 points. The stock is among the most significant declines in the index this morning, alongside Capgemini and Dassault Systèmes. Despite this drop, the stock still shows a gain of 11.74% over the month and 13.85% over the year, driven by the rise observed since the low in April, after the rebound on July 9. The RSI reaches 70, on the border of the overbought zone, which makes a pause coherent after several sessions of gains. However, the price remains above its three moving averages: the MM20 at €68.71 (a gap of 1.67%), the MM50 at €64.95, and the MM200 at €63.80, providing a cushion of nearly 9.5% on the latter. The resistance at €71.10, which corresponds to the previous day's price, has not been breached.
Jefferies Raises Target from €48 to €60 but Maintains Underperform Rating
This Tuesday, Jefferies raised its price target on Eurofins Scientific from €48 to €60, while maintaining an underperform rating. Based on the current price of €69.86, the new target from the American broker remains about 14% lower. This measured message echoes that already expressed at the end of June by another major broker, who had reiterated a cautious view on the stock. The fundamental context remains marked by the Q1 2026 publication at the end of April, deemed disappointing in terms of organic growth but supported by margins. The next financial milestone will be the publication of the half-year results. The stock continues to trade well above its long-term moving averages, against the backdrop of a catch-up that began in the spring.
