Eutelsat Signs Multi-Year Agreement with Anuvu for In-Flight Connectivity
On Tuesday, Eutelsat signed a multi-year agreement regarding the capacities of the Eutelsat 10B satellite to provide high-speed in-flight services. Anuvu, a provider of entertainment and aerial connectivity technologies, will use the Ku-band of the satellite to offer enhanced connectivity for a major airline.
A Geostationary Satellite with Global Coverage Capabilities
Operational since July 2023, Eutelsat 10B is positioned at 10° East and provides coverage extending from the American continent to Asia. This all-electric satellite is equipped with a fifth-generation transparent digital processor and features multi-beam HTS payloads in Ku-band specifically designed for the mobile connectivity sector.
This agreement demonstrates the interest of airline operators in geostationary capacities, in a context where Eutelsat relies on a multi-orbit ecosystem integrating its GEO satellites and the OneWeb constellation in low Earth orbit.
Anuvu Leverages Satellite Advantages for the Middle East and Europe
Anuvu will be able to deploy its Dedicated Space platform by leveraging the power and coverage of Eutelsat 10B. Tim Southard, head of networks at Anuvu, emphasized that the satellite's capabilities will enable optimal performance in the Middle East and Europe.
Thierry Polycarpe, Director of Aerial and Maritime Connectivity at Eutelsat, stated that this agreement illustrates the strategic role of GEO technologies within the group's multi-orbit infrastructure to meet the evolving needs of the aviation market.
