Facephi, a Spanish specialist in digital identity and fraud prevention, established an observatory on July 15 to share its internal expertise on digital threats. This initiative turns the knowledge accumulated by its 300 specialists into public intelligence, covering biometrics, applied artificial intelligence, and regulatory trends.

The Facephi Observatory operates as a center for prospective intelligence rather than merely a reactive chronicle. The platform analyzes regulations before they become mandatory and maps threats before they make headlines, according to Mariona Campmany, marketing director at Facephi.
The initiative targets the company's clients, industry peers, journalists, students, and technical professionals who aim to understand the evolution of the digital world. Available in Spanish and English, the observatory is already online on the company's website.
Massive Fraud and Informational Lag
According to Interpol's assessment of global financial fraud threats published in March 2026, financial fraud ranks among the top five global criminal threats, with estimated losses of $442 billion in 2025. Facephi's statement highlights that deepfakes can be generated in seconds, synthetic identities can be produced en masse, and fraud evolves faster than the information available to counter it. This gap between the reality of threats and timely understanding is the foundation of this initiative.
