The fire occurred on Sunday, February 22, 2026, around 3 PM at the Wet Concentration Plant (WCP) of Eramet Grande Côte's site in Senegal. Initial observations indicate that the fire was contained at the upstream of the WCP and that the spirals separating the mineralized sands were not affected.
