GTT Secures Order from Samsung Heavy Industries for a 170,000 m³ FSRU
In the second quarter of 2026, GTT received an order from Samsung Heavy Industries for the design of tanks for a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU). This vessel, ordered by Malaysian shipowner MISC, will mark its first project of this kind for the client's fleet.
GTT will provide the complete design of the cryogenic tanks for the new vessel, with a total capacity of 170,000 m³. The tanks will feature the Mark III membrane containment system, a technology developed by GTT.
The floating unit is intended to be deployed in Lumut, in the state of Perak, on the west coast of Malaysia. The vessel will contribute to the development of the country's gas supply infrastructure and enhance its energy flexibility.
