Hermès among CAC 40 leaders: stock rebounds 2% with RSI at 26
The Parisian leather goods maker is showing renewed strength in morning trading, as the CAC 40 heads higher. This recovery comes after several weeks of decline that have pushed the stock away from its moving averages, while the French bond market remains under pressure.
A rebound that fails to close the gap with moving averages
The Hermès stock is gaining 2.06% to €1,288.50 during the session, compared to €1,262.50 the previous day, ranking among the strongest gainers in the CAC 40. The stock remains, however, 3.90% below its 20-day moving average (€1,340.75) and 25.21% below its 200-day moving average (€1,722.80), following a 17.96% decline over three months and a 40.21% decline over one year. The RSI at 26 signals an oversold configuration, and the previous session had already seen the price fall below €1,286. The price is now trading just above the support level at €1,262.50, in a sector where LVMH is advancing 0.92% and Kering is up 1.69%.
A half-year decline on currencies, with gains in France and Japan
When publishing H1 2026 results on July 29, 2026, the group reported an unfavorable currency impact of more than €360 million on revenue, a 4% decline in the Middle East, and a 4% decline at constant exchange rates in fragrance and beauty. It also noted an acceleration in the second quarter in France, Japan and the Middle East, as well as the opening of its sixth house in London. In a context where the luxury sector is contending with hesitant Chinese consumption (jewelry and gold sales down 17.5% year-over-year in August), the next technical level to watch is the support at €1,262.50, while resistance stands at €1,598.
