ID Logistics expands from 8 to 17 sites in Germany and opens an XL center of 35,000 m²
In a press release published in October 2026, ID Logistics detailed its development in Germany, presented by the group as Europe's leading logistics market. The opening in September of a 35,000 m² center dedicated to heavy and bulky products at Mittelweserpark in Lower Saxony represents the latest milestone.
Workforce expanded to 4,800 employees and activities extended to transportation
Present in Germany since 2013, the group operated 8 sites in 2021, compared to 17 today. This network represents 910,000 m² of operational space and covers almost all federal states. Over the same period, headcount increased by more than 70%, rising from 2,800 to 4,800 employees. ID Logistics works for customers in distribution, fast-moving consumer goods, e-commerce and cosmetics. Its activities have expanded from warehouse management and order picking to sorting, and to last-mile delivery since 2024. The group is also developing transportation services, with solutions for full loads, groupage and distribution. Diversification also extends to the products handled, from everyday consumer goods to merchandise requiring specific storage and handling solutions, particularly heavy and bulky items. Robin Otto, General Manager of ID Logistics Germany, indicates that this development is based on "the ability to combine different areas of expertise" and to leverage the experience gained within the network.
Over 100,000 m² dedicated to heavy and bulky products
Engaged in this segment since 2018, the group now exceeds 100,000 m² dedicated to this activity in Germany. The new site features three buildings and can accommodate up to 7,000 oversized items weighing up to 180 kg. Orders are ready for shipment within two hours of receipt, and transshipment flows are processed within a maximum of four hours. To handle large household appliances, sofas and leisure equipment, ID Logistics has invested in 40 handling equipment units, several of which were specially designed for these operations. Once fully operational, the site will employ 150 people. According to Sergie Schiller, head of XL operations in Germany, the center was designed to absorb a significant increase in volumes, with already strong demand for transshipment. The center builds on the Göttingen site, approximately 60,000 m², specialized in heavy and bulky products since 2018. Part of the teams underwent three weeks of training before startup. On a global scale, the group, which achieved revenue of 3.7 billion euros in 2025, operates nearly 450 sites in 20 countries with 55,000 employees.
