Inventiva stock drops 6% and plunges 25% over three months
The Burgundy biotech specializing in fibrotic and metabolic diseases is falling sharply in mid-morning trading, as the Paris market itself declines. This pullback erases part of the previous week's rebound.
A decline that brings the stock back to contact with its 20-day moving average
The stock loses 6.26% to €2.92 and ranks among the strongest declines on the SBF 120, which is down 1.42%. It is now at contact with its MA20 (€2.91), after gaining 9.57% over seven days. This weekly recovery thus remains fragile, particularly as the price remains 14.4% below the MA50 (€3.41) and more than 30% below the MA200 (€4.21).
The support level at €2.65 is approximately 9% below the current price. Over three months, the loss reaches 25.4%. The security is listed in Paris (ordinary share) and on the Nasdaq (ADS), two lines representing the same security, with Paris as the primary listing.
Cash position strengthened to €166 million, but horizon limited to second quarter 2027
When publishing its H1 2026 financial statements on July 29, Inventiva reported cash reserves increased to €166.1 million as of June 30, following the €103 million equity offering and the €75 million financing transaction announced in early June. However, the company specified that this cash does not cover its operational needs for the next twelve months and its horizon is limited to the end of the second quarter 2027 without additional financing. No revenue was recorded in the first half, compared to €4.5 million a year earlier.
Tranche C of the financing transaction could provide up to an additional €20 million. The analyst consensus on the security is available on the dedicated analyst opinions page.
