Leading the CAC 40, Renault stock rebounds 3.5% against short sellers
The diamond-branded manufacturer takes the top spot on the Paris index in early afternoon, in a market showing minimal progress. The movement erases part of the decline accumulated last month and repositions it near a closely watched technical level.
A rebound that reclaims the 20-day MA and touches the 50-day MA
The Renault share gains 3.71% to €27.69 while the CAC 40 advances 0.31%. It is the strongest gain in the index, ahead of Stellantis, continuing the rebound that began at the start of the week: the stock is up 6.34% over seven days, but still down 6.45% over one month. The price clearly moves back above its 20-day moving average (€26.36, a 5.05% margin) and comes into contact with the 50-day MA (€27.78), while the 200-day MA at €28.96 remains more than 4% above.
The MACD, still negative, sees its histogram rising, and the RSI at 48 is neutral. This rebound occurs in a context of elevated French rates: the 10-year OAT stands at 4.74% at the latest Banque de France reading (October 15), with a 1.35 point spread against the Bund, while the National Assembly continues examining the 2027 budget. Brent at $106.37 per barrel, up 7.9% since October 6, weighs on fuel costs, a parameter to which the sector is sensitive.
