LightOn Shares Plunge 7.5% Following Cofounder's Departure
The stock of the French generative artificial intelligence company experiences a sharp decline during the session, following the announcement of a significant reshuffle in its governance. This downturn comes after a spectacular rally since spring on Euronext Growth.
A Drop that Penalizes the Company's Leadership Reshuffle
LightOn's stock falls 7.4% to €6.13 mid-session, down from €6.62 the previous day. This movement echoes the change in leadership announced on July 9: Igor Carron, cofounder and until then CEO, has resigned from all his positions. Jean-Philippe Baert takes over as CEO while Marie de Lauzon becomes the chair of the board. Such a reshuffle in the governance of a young AI company listed on Euronext Growth mechanically weighs on the strategic visibility of the group, which is reflected in today's session. The weekly decline now reaches 10.6%, after a rally that had pushed the stock up to nearly €7 at the end of June.
The Stock Breaks Below Its MM20 but Maintains a Cushion Above the MM50
Today's break brings the stock below its 20-day moving average (€6.41), with a 4.4% gap below this short-term reference which had supported the June rebound. The stock also strictly returns to its 200-day moving average at €6.12, a threshold that will serve as a test in the coming sessions. The MM50 remains far behind at €4.95, a legacy of the steep drop at the end of 2025: despite today's fall, the price still maintains nearly a 24% lead over this medium-term reference and still shows a +27.8% increase over three months. The RSI at 56 remains in a neutral zone, without signs of exhaustion. In the longer term, the performance over one year is nevertheless at -39%, reminding us that the recent weeks' rebound has only erased a fraction of the previous drop.
