Novacyt signs five-year collaboration framework agreement with Illumina
Molecular diagnostics company Novacyt has concluded a collaboration framework agreement with American manufacturer Illumina.
This framework, with an initial duration of five years, opens the way to potential joint projects without firm contractual commitment at this stage.
A framework agreement designed to explore future collaborations
Novacyt S.A. (Euronext Growth: ALNOV; AIM: NCYT) announced on September 1, 2026 that it has concluded a collaboration framework agreement (CFA) with Illumina (NASDAQ: ILMN), presented as a global leader in DNA sequencing and chip-based technologies.
The agreement establishes a framework within which the two parties may explore collaboration possibilities in areas of mutual interest. These projects remain subject to the conclusion of separate written agreements.
According to the press release, Novacyt will provide expertise complementary to Illumina's in order to explore product development and commercial collaboration opportunities.
An initial five-year period, with no firm projects at this stage
The framework agreement covers an initial five-year period. It aims to evaluate future collaboration and product development opportunities.
The agreement is limited to a cooperation framework for which any potential projects will be subject to separate written project agreements. Novacyt indicated that it will communicate, in due course, any significant developments resulting from this collaboration.
Management highlights a knowledge-sharing framework
Lyn Rees, Chief Executive Officer, stated that the CFA establishes a strategic framework aimed at facilitating knowledge sharing and training between Novacyt and Illumina, while opening the way to future collaborations.
Novacyt is based in Le Vésinet and has offices in the United Kingdom, Singapore, the United States and Canada, as well as a commercial presence in more than 65 countries, including Australia following the acquisition of Southern Cross Diagnostics in March 2026.
