OCI: Value8 has turned to the courts to block Orascom vote
OCI Global N.V. confirmed on September 3, 2026 the receipt of a request filed by Value8 N.V. before the Commercial Chamber of the Amsterdam Court of Appeal.
Value8 requests prohibition of vote on merger with Orascom
According to OCI Global N.V. (Euronext: OCI), the request notably calls for an investigation into the company's affairs as well as certain precautionary measures. Among these measures is a request for OCI to be prohibited from submitting to shareholders the proposed merger with Orascom Construction PLC, or from implementing the transaction pending the continuation of the proceedings.
OCI contests and maintains its roadmap
The company stated that it is examining the request with its legal advisors and believes it is without merit. OCI notes that the request largely repeats allegations and arguments already raised in ongoing proceedings before the Commercial Chamber, and intends to respond through appropriate legal channels and in accordance with applicable procedures. The group clarifies that the filing of this request does not change its priority, namely the execution of the announced strategy and the continuation of transactions previously communicated to shareholders. OCI added that it would provide updates as appropriate and in accordance with its disclosure obligations.
