OPmobility shares rebound above €11.77 following acquisition of Hyundai Mobis lighting business
The Lyon-based automotive supplier is gaining ground on Wednesday, in a SBF 120 index itself showing a slight decline, following a selling pressure sequence that had pushed the security below its support level during the session. The rebound occurs on the same day as the announcement of a strategic acquisition in automotive lighting.
A rebound that brings the security above its support level, following a bearish incursion during the session
In early afternoon, OPmobility gains 2.29% to €12.04, ranking among the best performers in the SBF 120 while the index declines 0.58% during the session. The day's movement is all the more notable as the security had briefly broken through its support at €11.77 during the session, touching a low of €11.73, before recovering. This return above the threshold technically erases intraday bearish pressure.
The RSI at 39 remains in low territory without signaling outright oversold conditions, while the security remains below its 20-day moving average at €12.15 (gap of -0.91%) and its 50-day moving average at €12.46. The immediate resistance stands at €12.73, representing a margin of approximately 5.7% compared to the current price. Over one month, the security is still down 4.67%, continuing a downward trend since the beginning of summer.
The acquisition of Hyundai Mobis lighting operations provides fundamental support for the rebound
OPmobility announced on Wednesday the signing of an agreement covering the entire lighting business of Hyundai Mobis, valued at approximately €390 million in enterprise value (600 billion South Korean won). The transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2027. This acquisition expands the supplier's scope in a segment where it is already present through its exterior and lighting systems, and strengthens its foothold with Asian automakers.
In terms of valuation, the security trades at around 7.5 times the earnings per share expected for the current fiscal year, according to analyst consensus, and 6.6 times for the following year, with earnings per share growth projected at +12.7% from one fiscal year to the next. The next confirmation test of the rebound will depend on the security's ability to break through and hold above its 20-day moving average at €12.15.
