Pernod Ricard Stock Recovers Nearly 3%
The stock of the French spirits giant is making a strong recovery, following a particularly well-oriented luxury sector in Paris. The value has risen above its short moving averages, without erasing an annual decline that remains significant.
A Rebound of 2.18% Positions Pernod Ricard Among the Top Gainers of the CAC 40
Pernod Ricard's stock has gained 2.18%, reaching €65.58 from €64.18 the previous day. The stock is among the strongest performers in the CAC 40, which is up by 0.57% during the session. The momentum is driven by the entire Parisian luxury sector, with Kering, LVMH, and Hermès all advancing by more than 3%.
The movement allows the spirits group to show a weekly gain of 3.77%, but the medium-term outlook remains degraded: the stock has lost 13.8% over three months and nearly 30% over a year. The underlying pressure is evident in consulted statements, which report a cumulative net short position of 3.31% of the capital, held by four funds.
The increase of 1.29 points in a month reflects a bearish bet that has expanded, without reaching extreme levels: a point to follow, to be interpreted with caution and in light of the sectoral environment. The export situation for cognac remains unfavorable, with a 25% decline in value on the 2025 balance sheet according to FEVS.
The Stock Moves Above Its Short Moving Averages but Remains Far from the MM200
Today's rebound brings the price above the MM20 (€63.27) and the MM50 (€64.50), with respective differences of 3.65% and 1.67%. The RSI at 51 remains in the neutral zone, without any excess signal, which leaves room before the resistance identified at €67.62, already targeted at the beginning of May.
The longer-term outlook remains constrained, however. The 200-day moving average, at €78.26, is still 16.20% above the current price, indicating the extent of the recovery needed to reverse the bearish trend established over several quarters.
On the agenda, the Pernod Ricard USA 2026 conference is expected tomorrow, May 28. Beyond the American meeting, maintaining above the €63-64 zone will be the reference point for the continuation of the technical sequence.
