Renault to Showcase Caudron Rafale in Flight at Air Legend 2026 Meeting
Renault will participate in the Air Legend air show on September 5 and 6, 2026, at Melun-Villaroche, featuring a flight presentation of the Caudron Rafale, an iconic aircraft from the 1930s. This event highlights the manufacturer's role in the development of French aviation and its mission to preserve industrial heritage.
Caudron Rafale to Star Alongside Historic Vehicles
Renault will present the Caudron Rafale in flight, as part of The Originals Renault - The Collection. This iconic aircraft from the 1930s was first seen flying in May 2026 at La Ferté-Alais. At Air Legend, it will be showcased both in flight and on the ground with the teams from the Renault collection. The manufacturer will also display four vehicles from its technological heritage related to the aviation world: the 40 CV of records (1926), the Nervasport of records (1934), the Tank Riffard (1956), and the Étoile Filante (1956). This retrospective will be complemented by three examples of the Renault Rafale, a coupe SUV whose name pays tribute to the Caudron-Renault Rafale, a racing aircraft developed in 1934.
A Century of Aeronautical Technological Performance
Through this initiative, Renault highlights its role in the development of French aviation and its pursuit of technological performance throughout the 20th century, up to its contemporary expressions. This participation is part of the mission of The Originals Renault - The Collection, which aims to preserve, restore, and transmit the brand's industrial, technical, and human heritage.
