Sanofi Partners with Trackmania to Raise Diabetes Awareness Among Gamers
Sanofi and Trackmania are launching a time-limited event partnership on Friday to educate gamers about daily diabetes management. The initiative is part of the laboratory's outreach to broader audiences, utilizing the engaging mechanics of video gaming.
An Educational Event Across Five Thematic Levels
The event starts on June 7 at 9 AM Pacific Time and continues until June 14. It features five Weekly Shorts tracks, each a playable course designed to illustrate different aspects of daily life with diabetes. Players can also unlock an exclusive Sanofi car skin from the game's club.
The first level, 'Understanding Diabetes', simulates glycemic fluctuations with acceleration sections representing food, energy, coffee, or stress, alternated with slower zones linked to exercise and the passage of time. The second level, 'Staying on Track', increases technical difficulty and uses visual effects (slow motion, camera shakes, distortions) to represent the impact of stress and fatigue on daily life.
Gameplay Serving the Educational Message
The following three levels extend this immersive approach. 'Every Day Is Different' structures the course as a multi-path puzzle, where the player's decisions (choice of surfaces, routes) affect progress, reflecting how small choices impact blood sugar over time. 'Decisions Under Pressure' raises the challenge by demanding maximum reactivity and precision, symbolizing the rapid adaptation sometimes required in diabetes management in response to sudden changes.
The final level, 'Balance the Curve', provides a playful and optimistic conclusion: the player navigates directly on a glycemic curve representing a full day of glucose variations, presented in a side-camera view inspired by classic trial games.
Title Available for Free Access
Trackmania is playable for free on PlayStation, Xbox, PC via the Ubisoft Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
