Sanofi Restructures Its Executive Committee Effective September 1, 2026, with Two Executives Departing
On July 21, Sanofi announced changes to its executive committee, effective September 1, 2026. This reorganization focuses power around business activities, research and development, and key global functions, while two executive leaders will either leave or change roles.
A Streamlined Executive Team with Eight Executive Vice Presidents
Starting September 1, 2026, Sanofi's executive committee will consist of eight executive vice presidents overseeing key areas: François Roger (Finance), Paulo Fontoura (Research and Development), Manuela Buxo (Specialty Medicine), Thomas Triomphe (Vaccines), Thomas Grenier (General Medicine), Brendan O'Callaghan (Manufacturing and Supply), Jamie Haney (Legal Affairs), and Véronique Jaillet (Chief People Officer, ad interim). Emmanuel Frenehard (Chief Digital Officer) and Audrey Duval (Director of Corporate Affairs) will continue to report directly to CEO Belén Garijo.
Reorganization of Responsibilities and Departures
Madeleine Roach, currently Director of Business Operations, will become President and Country Director for Sanofi in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Her current responsibilities in optimizing support services will be integrated into the Finance function, which will also be expanded to include Global Partnering & Business Development. Olivier Charmeil, Executive Vice President of General Medicine, will become an advisor to the CEO for strategic projects. Roy Papatheodorou, Executive Vice President and Legal Director, has decided to leave Sanofi to pursue new opportunities after more than four years with the group. Thomas Triomphe will also oversee the group's activities in China, in addition to his role as head of Vaccines.
