SES extends satellite partnership with Sky dating back to 1988 for the coming decade
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator has extended its partnership with Sky for the distribution of satellite television services in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland. This commercial relationship, initiated in 1988, will continue into the next decade.
A multi-year agreement for direct-to-home television
SES and Sky have concluded a new multi-year agreement covering direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television services in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, announced on September 30, 2026.
Under the terms of this agreement, Sky will continue to use SES satellite capacity at the 28.2 degrees East orbital position to broadcast television services to millions of households in the region.

The renewal extends a partnership that dates back to 1988. According to Nick Herm, Chief Operating Officer of the Sky Group, the agreement provides the reliability, reach and service quality necessary to continue delivering the viewing experience expected by satellite customers.
Deepak Mathur, President of the Media division at SES, presented this renewal as a further step in a relationship spanning nearly four decades and a reinforcement of the group's commitment to the United Kingdom and Ireland market.
