SES share falls 2.5%, among the steepest declines in the SBF 120
The Luxembourg-based satellite operator is losing ground in mid-session trading, in a declining Paris market. The decline comes after a rebound over several days and following a favorable opinion published Monday by a major American bank.
A decline of 2.83% that leaves the stock below its 50-day and 200-day moving averages
SES stock is trading at €4.05 and losing 2.83% compared to the previous day, while the SBF 120 is falling 0.69% and the CAC 40 is down 0.66%. The stock is among the steepest decliners in the index, in a market penalized by tension in French debt, with a 10-year OAT at 4.85%. The price nonetheless remains 2.32% above its 20-day moving average (€3.95), which is supporting the rebound that began in recent days.
It is conversely trading 7.31% below its 50-day moving average (€4.37) and 32.38% below its 200-day moving average (€5.98). The stock is up 11.89% over one week, taking into account the dividend paid on October 13, but is still down 41.30% over three months.
Goldman Sachs sets a price target of €7 following the ex-dividend date on October 13
Goldman Sachs published on Monday, October 19, a buy rating with a price target of €7.00, representing an upside potential of more than 70% compared to the current price. This adds to the upgrade by Oddo BHF on October 15, which had then put the stock at the top of the SBF 120. SES also detached a dividend advance of €0.25 on October 13: the stock has been trading ex-dividend since that date, which in no way explains today's decline.
The group also announced at the end of September that it is targeting a dividend of at least €0.50 per Class A share for 2026. The consensus of analysts will be worth following in the coming days.
