SES Space & Defense Secures a 5-Year Framework Contract with the US Space Force
SES's defense subsidiary has won a five-year blanket purchase agreement from the US Air Force's Space Systems Command. This contract involves the provision of managed satellite services in Ku-band across the branches of the Department of Defense.
An Agreement to Simplify Access to Military Satellite Connections
SES Space & Defense has signed a five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement with the Space Systems Command of the U.S. Space Force, acting on behalf of the Department of War. This contract allows all branches of the US military to directly order reliable and secure Ku-band connectivity services, deployable anywhere on the globe, including the most remote regions. The agreement introduces a simplified acquisition model, based on managed services rather than the development or acquisition of proprietary infrastructure. All services provided utilize Ku-band satellites, known for their extensive coverage and performance in throughput and reliability.
Three Service Offerings Integrated into the Flex Range
The contract includes three distinct service offerings. FlexMove ensures continuous connectivity for mobile or stationary teams in areas lacking cellular coverage. FlexGovSecure, focused on security, uses TRANSEC technology to mask signals and protect them from tracking and hacking. FlexAir, developed in partnership with Satcom Direct Government (SDG, a subsidiary of Gogo), is designed for aircraft and relies on Gogo's Plane Simple Ku-band terminals. The Department of Defense thus gains access to a managed service solution, fully protected by TRANSEC, enhancing the security of critical operations. A Partnership with Satcom Direct Government for Aerial Connectivity
