SES stock falls back into red territory, decline exceeds 44% over three months
The rebound recorded the previous day, following the extension of the contract with the Peruvian Navy, failed to hold. SES stock turned red this Friday, erasing part of the previous session's gains, in a broadly stable European market. Selling pressure persists on the security despite little directional bias in the index.
A decline that extends a quarterly deterioration of more than 44% in the stock
The SES stock fell 2.06% during the session, to €4.75, after closing at €4.85 the previous day. The reversal occurs as the SBF 120 posts virtually no change (-0.17%) during the session, isolating the SES movement from the rest of the market. Over the past three months, the stock has lost more than 44%, a trajectory that remains among the most pronounced in the segment.
Thursday's rebound, driven by the announcement of the extension of the satellite contract with the Peruvian Navy, therefore failed to trigger lasting momentum. Over the week, performance remains negative at -2.98%, a sign that opportunistic buying from the previous day did not alter the underlying trend.
An RSI in marked oversold territory, three moving averages well above the price
The technical configuration of SES remains deteriorated. The price is trading significantly below its three moving averages: the MA20 at €5.13, the MA50 at €6.32, and the MA200 at €6.56 all dominate the current price, reflecting a downward dynamic established over multiple timeframes. The RSI at 25 signals marked oversold conditions, already documented during previous sessions, without this being sufficient to trigger a lasting reversal.
The nearest support level stands at €4.63, representing a limited gap of approximately 2.5% below the current price. At least two funds remained positioned bearishly on the stock according to the declarations consulted, a positioning consistent with the persistence of selling pressure. The next area of attention remains this support level at €4.63, already touched during the slide in early September.
