Société Générale stock breaks through support at €62.27 and declines nearly 2%
The bank headquartered in La Défense extends its decline mid-session, in a CAC 40 also oriented downward but less affected than it. It finds itself in the lower ranks of the index, while tension over French debt remains at the center of discussions.
Below its support, the bank widens the gap with its three moving averages
Société Générale loses 1.83% to €61.13, compared to 0.63% for the CAC 40, and ranks fourth among the largest declines in the index. The price falls below the support level of €62.27, which corresponded to the previous close. It is 8.06% below its 20-day moving average and 14.73% below its 50-day moving average, a gap that widened following a 14.97% decline over one month, excluding dividend detachment.
The RSI at 30.1 is approaching the oversold zone. The stock has been trading ex-dividend since October 5, following the detachment of a dividend of €0.75, a factor taken into account in the performances mentioned.
