A 20% Surge Propels Soitec to the Top of the SBF 120 After Annual Accounts
Soitec's stock has surged by 20.36% to €185.60 at mid-session, leading the SBF 120 while the broader index is down by 0.24%. The stock reached €187.25 during the session, its highest in three years, surpassing the previous record of €182.30 set in 2023. The increase comes the day after the publication of the annual accounts for 2026, which showed a 34% decline in revenue to €592 million but a cash flow back to +€63 million, compared to a deficit of €23 million a year earlier. The recovery in cash generation, despite the squeeze on EBITDA margin to 25.4%, clearly took precedence over the revenue decline. Following this, Oddo BHF raised its price target from €85 to €144.86. Over three months, the performance has now reached 353.8%, and 226.5% over a year. Net short positions declared stand at 3.27% of the capital, spread among four funds, showing a very slight decrease of 0.08 points over thirty days according to the filings. The level remains high in absolute terms and reflects a bearish bet that did not unwind before the publication, without drawing any isolated conclusions while the stock has just strongly rebounded.
Breaking the Resistance at €177.35 Confirms Technical Momentum
Technically, the stock has broken through its resistance at €177.35 during the session and is maintaining above at €185.60. The price is now far above its moving averages, with a gap of nearly 21% over the MM20 (€153.48) and more than 78% over the MM50 (€103.82). The RSI at 56 remains in the neutral zone, which reflects the rapid absorption of overbought excesses noted several times since February. The valuation, however, is at a high level: according to the consensus of analysts surveyed, the stock is trading at about 529 times the earnings for the current fiscal year and 111 times those of the next fiscal year. During the 2026 publication (May 27, 2026), the management highlighted demand driven by artificial intelligence and the adoption of Photonics-SOI solutions for data centers, while also pointing out risks related to inventory corrections among RF-SOI clients and the persistent weakness of the automotive market. The next milestone on the calendar remains to be confirmed; in the short term, the behavior of the stock around the threshold of €177.35, now converted into a reference zone, will be the technical element to watch.
