Soitec Stock Plummets 7%, Becomes the Worst Performer in the SBF 120, Down 34.5% Over the Month
The Isère-based semiconductor substrate specialist faces another sharp slowdown mid-morning. The stock now trails the broader Paris index, further eroding an already severely degraded monthly trajectory in a still tense technology sector.
A Drop that Aggravates a Monthly Correction of Over 34%
Soitec stock loses 7.01% at €90.80 during the session, down from €97.64 the previous day. The stock now ranks last in the SBF 120, which itself has fallen by 0.43%. Over the month, the stock has now lost 34.58%, a drop that contrasts with a gain still close to 97% over the year.
The movement of the day continues a challenging series marked by several sessions of high volatility and unfavorable analyst revisions, including a price target reduction by JP Morgan in early July, which was already penalized during the session. The sectoral context remains unpropitious: comments by Fed Governor Lisa Cook, who stated she is ready to act if inflation does not slow down, fuel the nervousness over growth stocks sensitive to long-term rates.
A Stock Now Far Below its Short-Term Moving Averages, with Only MM200 for Support
The technical setup has significantly deteriorated with this new decline. The price is now 36.47% below its MM20 (€142.93) and 33.67% below its MM50 (€136.89), two averages that reflect the extent of the correction since the spring's highs. Only the MM200, at €61.74, remains well below the price, with a 47% gap that recalls the journey over the past year.
The RSI at 44 is not yet in the oversold zone, which leaves the door open for a continuation of the movement. Fundamentally, during the annual results announcement on May 27, 2026, the company had identified among its risks the decrease in volumes linked to the correction of inventories at clients and the pressure on profitability. The next factual appointment will be the publication of the quarterly sales figures, usually communicated at the end of July.
