Soitec stock rebounds to €126.30 but remains down 13% over the week
The Isère-based semiconductor substrate manufacturer is rising during trading in a Paris market oriented upwards. This movement follows several days of profit-taking and a fresh test of a monitored technical threshold.
A rebound that keeps the stock below its short-term moving averages
The Soitec stock is up 2.14% to €126.30, versus €123.65 the previous day. This gain follows a decline of 13.08% over seven days, and the stock remains below its 20-day MA (lag of 15.10%) as well as its 50-day MA (lag of 6.63%). It is trading, however, 26.67% above its 200-day MA, which underscores the ground covered since summer: +46.18% over three months and +223.3% over one year.
The support level at €123, breached Tuesday during trading, has been barely reclaimed, with an RSI at 35.93 reflecting the exhaustion of selling pressure in recent days. In the SBF 120 ranking, today's gain places the stock in the first half of the index, which is advancing 0.51%.
A high valuation and a share buyback program of €358 million
The stock is trading at approximately 159.5 times current fiscal year earnings and 35.1 times next fiscal year earnings, according to consensus estimates among analysts. The group, headquartered in Bernin (Isère), designs and manufactures semiconductor substrates intended for mobile devices, automotive, industry, and artificial intelligence. It announced on July 29, 2026 a share buyback program of €358 million.
The sector remains under scrutiny in a context of questions about the return on investment in AI, while the European technology segment declined at the start of trading Tuesday. The nearest resistance level is located at €167.55, while the 20-day MA, at €148.76, marks the first moving average level to reclaim.
