Soitec stock soars 14%, leading the SBF 120
Soitec is surging this Thursday and significantly outperforming the SBF 120 index in a slightly declining Paris market. The jump comes after the company raised its revenue forecast for the second quarter, and Oddo BHF seizes the opportunity to revise its price target upward on the stock.
A guidance raise and analyst opinion propel the stock
Today's momentum stems from the statement published Wednesday, September 2, by which Soitec raised its revenue growth forecast for its second quarter 2026-2027 to approximately 50%, representing a significant increase compared to the initial guidance. This adjustment is based on accelerating demand in the Photonics-SOI business segment, a rapidly expanding area for the Isère-based semiconductor substrate manufacturer. Subsequently, Oddo BHF raised its price target from 150 € to 175 € on Thursday, while maintaining its "outperform" rating.
At the current price of 128.10 €, this target represents an implied upside potential of approximately 37%. Over the past week, the stock has already posted a gain of nearly 19%, and has advanced more than 23% over one month, reflecting a sharp recovery after a difficult quarter (-16.3% over three months).
Soitec moves well above its moving averages, RSI remains neutral
The amplitude of today's rise repositions the stock at 128.10 €, well above the 20-day moving average at 116.83 € (a gap of nearly 10%) and the 50-day moving average at 110.08 € (a gap of more than 16%). These two moving averages had weighed on the stock during the quarterly decline; their clear breakthrough strengthens near-term momentum. The nearest resistance is identified at 133.50 €, representing only a 4% gap with the current price, making it the next level to watch for the remainder of the session.
The RSI at 49 remains neutral, indicating that the bullish thrust has not yet pushed the stock into overbought territory, contrary to what the amplitude of the daily advance might suggest. The CAC 40 is down 0.36% on the session, and the SBF 120 is declining 0.24%, which makes Soitec's outperformance all the more evident. According to the consensus of tracked analysts, the stock is trading at approximately 45 times the expected earnings for the following fiscal year, a valuation that reflects growth expectations tied to the Photonics-SOI expansion.
