Vallourec internalizes threading of its large fittings in China, at Changzhou
Vallourec announced on October 20, 2026 the commissioning of a new threading unit dedicated to fittings at its Changzhou site, which celebrates its 20th anniversary. Large-sized parts requiring threading, previously entrusted to an approved third-party manufacturer, can now be processed directly by the group on site.
Capacity increased to nearly 20,000 parts per year
The group completed in October the commissioning of this new line, which is already processing the first customer orders. It has an annual capacity of approximately 5,000 parts. With this addition, the total threading capacity of the Accessories business reaches nearly 20,000 parts per year for the entire Changzhou site. Vallourec presents this unit as "a new milestone in the development of this site".
Reduced lead times and process control, priorities highlighted in China
According to the press release, this integrated approach simplifies the processing circuit and reduces transport-related delays. The group also indicates that it ensures better control of the process and threading that complies with its own quality requirements. The additional capacity also provides greater flexibility in production planning, in order to meet requests with short delivery times. Vallourec presents this investment as an illustration of its "commitment to continue developing its capacities closer to its customers and to strengthen its service offering in China". The objective stated by the group is to "gain further reactivity and flexibility, while guaranteeing the level of quality expected by our customers".
