Wolters Kluwer Expands Partnership with OpenAI
Wolters Kluwer announced on Wednesday an expanded collaboration with OpenAI to deploy trusted artificial intelligence solutions in regulated environments. The partnership combines OpenAI's technological capabilities with the group's Expert AI platform to support professionals in the medical, tax, legal, and compliance sectors.
A Collaboration Focused on Trusted AI in Regulated Sectors
Wolters Kluwer and OpenAI are expanding their collaboration to develop and deploy native AI solutions for professionals and institutions operating in highly regulated and critical-stakes environments. The partnership integrates OpenAI's latest capabilities with Wolters Kluwer's Expert AI suite, incorporating the group's curated content, deep business workflows, and safeguards defined by its responsible AI principles. Wolters Kluwer will implement OpenAI technologies within its secure, model-agnostic GenAI platform (FAB), while maintaining its existing enterprise infrastructure and meeting its clients' governance requirements.
A Portfolio of Features in Preparation
The two companies have a portfolio of planned features, equipped with generative and agentive AI anchored in professional expertise domains. This collaboration enhances the relevance of Wolters Kluwer's Expert AI solutions in the health, tax and accounting, law, and compliance sectors. With access to the latest APIs and platform capabilities from OpenAI, Wolters Kluwer can deploy these technologies while maintaining transparency, traceability, and the levels of trust required by professional users.
Initial Deployment Results and Growing Adoption
Wolters Kluwer is already deploying Expert AI capabilities on a large scale in health, tax and accounting, law, compliance, and regulation workflows. For UpToDate Expert AI, the generative solution powered by OpenAI evolving from Wolters Kluwer's evidence-based information platform, more than half of the U.S. Enterprise Edition clients, representing about 2,000 hospitals, had signed up to adopt the Expert AI version by April 30, with momentum towards 70% adoption by mid-year. In the tax field, agentive solutions integrated into CCH Axcess have already reduced manual tasks by 20 to 30%, allowing professionals to devote more time to high-value work.
