Amoéba: Promising Trials in Brazil Pave the Way for the Soy Market
Amoéba (FR0011051598 - ALMIB) announces that it has conducted a comprehensive field testing program in Brazil, in partnership with Koppert, to evaluate the potential of its AXPERA biofungicide technology on soybeans and orange trees, two strategic crops for the country.
Strategic Partnership and Promising Trials
The trials conducted in Brazil are part of the strategic agreement signed with Koppert in June 2025. A visit at the end of March demonstrated the promising nature of the trials and confirmed the Brazilian market's interest in Amoéba. The AXPERA technology complements the European and American markets where the two companies focus on vineyards and vegetable crops.
Significant Results in Soy and Orange Crops
Regarding soy, which covers about 48 million hectares in Brazil, the testing program confirmed AXPERA's promising performance against Asian rust, tested under real agricultural conditions in addition to a standard fungicide program. For orange trees, which cover about 450,000 hectares, the initial results observed against bacterial canker seem encouraging and could contribute to reducing the use of copper.
Potential Commercialization and Regulatory Steps
Amoéba is considering the potential commercialization of its technology in Brazil by 2028. The next steps include obtaining approval from Brazilian authorities, with approval expected in 2027 for the first use against soy rust. The Ministry of Health has already confirmed the non-hazardous nature of the AXPERA product. A new trial campaign will be carried out in 2027 in other regions representative of soy and orange crops for a final confirmation of the marketing positioning.
