BIO-UV Group Expands Its Presence in the Food Industry with Brasserie du Bocq
BIO-UV Group announces the deployment of a new UV reactor at Brasserie du Bocq, renewing its collaboration with one of Belgium's oldest independent breweries. This order comes five years after the initial installations in 2021.
Continued Partnership and Technological Advancement
BIO-UV Group, a European specialist in water treatment and disinfection systems using UV, ozone, salt electrolysis, and AOP, has delivered a third UV treatment system to Brasserie du Bocq. The brewery has incorporated this new reactor to secure the osmosed water used in its beer production. The collaboration between the two companies began in 2021 with the installation of two UV reactors, followed by the deployment of a third system this year to meet new production requirements.
Certified UV Reactors Meeting Health Standards
BIO-UV Group's UV reactors are ACS UV certified and meet health compliance criteria for the food industry. They feature low-pressure amalgam lamps that ensure optimal disinfection under various conditions, with cold, room temperature, or hot water up to 60°C, while consuming reduced energy. The compact design allows for vertical or horizontal integration into production lines, and a UV sensor monitors processes in real-time with LED alarm and dry contact signaling.
Recognition and Satisfaction in Beer Quality
In 2022, the beers produced with water treated by BIO-UV Group's UV systems received two awards: a bronze medal at the World Beer Award Belgium and at the Brussels Beer Challenge. Xavier Hubert, Investment Manager at Brasserie du Bocq, states, 'The systems provided by BIO-UV Group have quickly proven their effectiveness, resulting in high-quality water used in our beer production process. After an initial collaboration with BIO-UV Group, we were satisfied with the results; it therefore seems natural for us to continue our partnership with the company.'
