DON'T NOD Unveils Aphelion, a Sci-Fi Game Designed with the European Space Agency
French independent game development studio DON'T NOD announces the release of its new sci-fi action-adventure game, Aphelion, on April 28, 2026. Developed in collaboration with the European Space Agency, the game will launch simultaneously on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with availability from day one on Game Pass.
Exploring the Unknown: The Setting of Aphelion
Aphelion is a sci-fi action-adventure game set at the edge of the solar system. Players take on the roles of two European Space Agency astronauts, Ariane and Thomas, members of the fictional Hope 01 mission. Their mission is to explore and study the unknown planet Persephone, solve the mystery of their ship's crash, and survive the presence of a hostile and unknown life form. The collaboration with the ESA allows for the integration of authentic space science elements and grounds the depiction of space exploration in real scientific knowledge and humanistic values.
Multi-Platform Availability and Pre-Orders
Aphelion will be available on three platforms: PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. The title will benefit from day one availability on Game Pass as part of the Xbox Play Anywhere program. Pre-orders for the game on consoles are already open.
