LACROIX: Smart Grids Business Unit Accelerates in Germany
LACROIX announces an acceleration of its Smart Grids Business Unit, driven by the energy transition in Germany and a favorable regulatory framework. The German subsidiary of the group recorded a growth of over 20% in 2025, with a turnover of approximately 34 million euros.
Impact of German Energy Transition on Smart Grids
According to a LACROIX press release, the German energy transition, characterized by the rise of renewable energies and the increase in decentralized productions, transforms households into network actors and complicates the management of medium and low voltage networks. Since January 1, 2024, the reform of Article 14a of the German Energy Act requires remote control of energy equipment, with a compliance deadline set for January 1, 2029. This regulation generates an increased need for supervision, regulation, and remote control solutions for low voltage networks. The group indicates that its Smart Grids Business Unit has shown a growth of 54% between 2020 and 2025, with an acceleration in the fiscal year 2025: a turnover increase of more than 20%, to about 34 million euros, a large portion of which was achieved in Germany.
Launch of New Remote Management Units
In May 2025, LACROIX launched a new generation of remote management units, series5X, coupled with its latest software platform version. According to the group, this solution has experienced 'a strong success since its launch, illustrated by sales that have already exceeded the volumes of the previous generation'. Vincent Bédouin, CEO of the LACROIX group, emphasizes that 'the solutions dedicated to stabilizing energy networks in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland represent a market with very high potential'. LACROIX estimates that the market for medium and low voltage network equipment in the DACH region should experience 'an average annual growth in double digits over the coming years'.
