Role of the Medical Device Innovation Consortium
The Medical Device Innovation Consortium brings together stakeholders from the medical device sector with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and other government partners. The organization develops research, tools, and frameworks of action designed to assist manufacturers in navigating regulatory approval and in building the necessary evidence base for coverage decisions. The MDIC board includes officials from the medical device industry, patient advocates, as well as representatives from the FDA, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), and the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
