SPIE Acquires Czech Firm BLOCK to Expand into Cleanrooms in Central Europe
SPIE has signed an acquisition agreement for the BLOCK group, a Czech supplier specializing in the design, engineering, and construction of cleanrooms. The transaction is expected to be finalized in the second quarter of 2026.
Strategic Acquisition by SPIE
SPIE, the independent European leader in multi-technical services, has announced the acquisition of the BLOCK group, a renowned provider of turnkey solutions for cleanrooms in the Czech Republic. Established in 1991, BLOCK serves clients in demanding sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, microelectronics, and optics. The group offers comprehensive services that span the entire project lifecycle, from design and engineering to implementation, including services and validation. Their expertise also encompasses process automation systems and high-voltage installations.
Financial and Operational Impact
For the fiscal year 2025, BLOCK reported a revenue of approximately 50 million euros and employed around 160 professionals as of March 2026. The acquisition will significantly strengthen SPIE Central Europe's position in high-technical-demand and high-added-value industries. Integrating BLOCK will enable SPIE to cater to a broader client base in Central Europe and expand its presence in rapidly growing segments such as pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and healthcare.
Finalization and Future Prospects
SPIE plans to finalize the transaction in the second quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions, including the approval of competition authorities. This operation will consolidate SPIE's presence in the Czech Republic, where it currently operates two local entities: SPIE Stangl Technik and SPIE STS.
