Tosca and Cabka Unveil Circular Pallet to Transform Agri-food Logistics
This week, Tosca and Cabka introduced a new circular pallet, the Tosca CP 1208, designed to meet the increasing demands of sustainability and automation in agri-food supply chains and distribution. This Euro-format solution offers an alternative to single-use packaging, in compliance with European packaging regulations.
Integration into Existing Operations
The new Tosca CP 1208 pallet is developed to integrate into the existing operations of companies in the agri-food and distribution sectors. It provides a standardized and stable platform, compatible with large-scale automated environments. Laurent Le Mercier, EMEA President of Tosca, emphasizes that this pallet 'offers producers, growers, and distributors a standardized, automation-ready alternative, compliant with packaging regulations, which enhances efficiency, strengthens worker safety, and supports a true circular supply chain without disrupting existing operations.'
Made from Recycled Plastic
The pallet is made from recycled plastic, turning post-consumer and post-industrial waste into high-performance transport assets. Alex Masharov, CEO of Cabka, states that this pallet 'demonstrates what circular logistics should look like in practice' and that 'circular materials can become the new standard for the agri-food, distribution, and broader logistics sectors.' The solution provides an alternative to wooden pallets, which require ISPM-15 heat treatment or fumigation, and proves more compatible with circular reuse models. It is designed to support compliance with European regulations on packaging and packaging waste (PPWR) and extended producer responsibility (EPR) schemes.
