Virtualware Secures Contract Over €800,000 with Spanish ADIF
Virtualware has secured a contract renewal with ADIF, the Spanish public entity responsible for managing the national railway network. This multi-year extension, valued at over 800,000 euros, involves the continuation and enhancement of the RITS railway training simulator.
Continued Collaboration on Railway Training
Virtualware has signed an extension of its agreement with ADIF to continue the Railway Infrastructure Training Simulator (RITS). This four-year agreement follows an initial collaboration that began in 2021. The solution, based on the VIROO enterprise XR platform, utilizes virtual reality to train professionals in the operation and maintenance of railway infrastructures. The system allows multiple users to simultaneously train on various railway tasks, from basic operations to specialized procedures. RITS is deployed at the Technological Training Center in Valencia and at additional remote sites across Spain, providing training to approximately 1,000 new agents annually.
Significant Value and International Recognition
The extension is valued at over 800,000 euros. RITS has gained international recognition by winning a Bronze award at the 2024 Brandon Hall Group Awards for the best advancement in virtual reality, and was featured at the UIC World Congress on Railway Training in China in 2025.
Strengthening Public Sector Position
This extension strengthens Virtualware's position in the public sector. The Bilbao-based Spanish company concluded the year 2025 with order intakes exceeding 8 million euros, primarily from government and nuclear projects.
