Advicenne: Sibnayal Granted Reimbursement in Spain, Eyes on Europe
Advicenne announces the reimbursement approval of Sibnayal (a combination of potassium citrate and bicarbonate) in Spain for the treatment of distal renal tubular acidosis (dRTA). This access to official pricing marks a step in the European expansion for the flagship drug of the Paris-based laboratory.
Sibnayal now benefits from official reimbursement in Spain, with prices set at 409.84 euros for the 24 mEq dosage and 136.62 euros for the 8 mEq dosage. This decision by the Spanish health authorities ends the early access program and recognizes the therapeutic value of the drug in a rare disease for which no other authorized treatment exists on the market.
Since its market authorization in Europe, Sibnayal was available in Spain through this limited access program. The distribution of the drug in the country is handled by the local partner SPA Farma Iberica.
