Aperam Shares Bounce 3% Marking One of the Top Gains in the SBF 120
The Luxembourg-based steelmaker significantly recovers during the session, following the company's announcement of an expected sharp improvement in its quarterly profitability the day before. The rebound comes after several weeks of correction that had erased part of the spring rally. The stock is now among the top gainers in the SBF 120.
Rebound Driven by Significantly Higher Q2 EBITDA Expectations Compared to the First Quarter
Aperam's stock rises 3.05% to €43.18, up from €41.90 the previous day. The stock benefits from a press release issued on Wednesday, in which the company states that its adjusted EBITDA for the second quarter of 2026 is expected to be significantly higher than the €90 million achieved in the first quarter. The company highlights the strong comeback of its Brazilian operations and the reduction of imports in Europe, following the implementation of trade defense measures. The stock is among the largest gainers in the SBF 120, which itself is up by 0.7%. This rebound occurs after a series of bearish sessions that had broken several technical levels since mid-June. Today's movement goes against a punishing month, with a decline of 15.4% over the last thirty days. However, over three months, the stock still shows a gain of 24.1%, and it is up more than 61% over one year.
Technical Rebound in an Oversold Zone, Under Weakened Moving Averages
The rebound begins from a technically tense zone. The RSI has dropped to 31, on the edge of being oversold, indicating the exhaustion of the selling wave over recent weeks. However, the price remains below its 20-day and 50-day moving averages, positioned at €47.62, which is a gap of just over 9% to fill before considering a broader recovery. The 200-day moving average, at €38.04, remains 13.5% below the current price, which maintains the underlying bullish trend despite the summer correction. The support at €41.78, tested in previous days, serves as a pivot for today's recovery. The next milestone to watch will be the publication of the semi-annual results.
