Arcadis Appoints Heather Polinsky as New CEO in 2026
Arcadis has announced that Heather Polinsky will be appointed CEO and Chair of the Executive Board, taking office on March 1, 2026.
Leadership Transition Announced
According to an Arcadis press release, the company has designated Heather Polinsky, currently the global president for resilience and mobility, as the new CEO and Chair of the Executive Board. She will succeed Alan Brookes, who will step down on March 1, 2026. Heather Polinsky's appointment will be subject to shareholder approval at the annual general meeting scheduled for May 20, 2026. She will be based in Amsterdam.

Michiel Lap, Chair of the Supervisory Board, stated that Arcadis aims to strengthen its growth and market position. Heather Polinsky, with a 30-year career spanning various operational, client, and commercial roles, has been chosen to drive these priorities in the company's next strategic cycle. Since 2023, she has led the company's most profitable sector, resilience, boosting growth and improving margins.
Extensive Experience and Background
Heather Polinsky joined Arcadis in 1999 after working for the US Army Environmental Command. She has over 30 years of experience in engineering, science, and consulting disciplines. Before joining the executive leadership team in 2023, she held positions such as Chief Operating Officer for North America and client development roles at Malcolm Pirnie, Inc., contributing to its merger with Arcadis in 2009.
