AXA Shares Set a New Record at €43.78, Defying a Declining CAC 40
The insurer continues its climb in mid-session, moving against the trend of a declining CAC 40. The stock has just reached a new all-time high, extending a momentum that has intensified since spring. The session confirms a bullish setup, while the overall Paris market loses ground.
A New Historic Record Set During the Session at €43.78
AXA shares are up 0.53% at €43.64 in midday trading, after touching €43.78 during the session, its highest historical level. The previous record was at €43.71. The stock ranks among the top gainers in the CAC 40, while the Paris index is down 0.39% at 8,352 points.
The performance stands out in a market weighed down by cyclical stocks and materials sector players: EssilorLuxottica, Vinci, and Eiffage are at the bottom of the index. AXA has advanced 2.68% over the week and now shows nearly 15% increase over three months. Over one year, the gain is more modest, at 4%.

The intra-session breakout of the previous resistance at €43.41 (which corresponds to the last close) paves the way to the psychological round threshold of €44, the next level above the current price. The stock is now significantly above its moving averages, with a gap of 5.72% over the MM20 (€41.28) and 6.83% over the MM50 (€40.85), indicating a sharp acceleration of the upward movement. The RSI at 72 enters an overbought zone, which reflects the intensity of the rally rather than an isolated signal.
The progress observed in mid-June, which had pushed the stock to bump against €41.86, is part of the same sequence. The declining VIX at 18.41 (-2.54%) accompanies this renewed appetite for financial stocks. On the agenda, AXA posted a 6% increase in revenue to €38 billion in Q1 2026 in early May, the last known fundamental update on the group's activity.
