Bourse Direct Extends Paid Securities Lending to PEA Accounts, a First According to the Brokerage Firm
The online brokerage announced, in a press release published on October 12, 2026, that its clients holding a PEA account will now be able to authorize the lending of their securities in exchange for potential monthly remuneration. This remuneration depends on supply and demand in the securities lending market and is only paid when the securities are actually lent.
PEA, PEA-PME and PEA Jeunes Join the Standard Brokerage Account
Previously reserved for holders of a standard brokerage account, Bourse Direct's securities lending service has been extended to PEA, PEA-PME and PEA Jeunes accounts. The company presents itself as the sole French brokerage to offer this service. The principle is based on authorization given by the client: the client allows Bourse Direct to use its securities as part of lending operations. According to the press release, this represents for the investors concerned an additional opportunity to earn income on securities they already hold, "without changing their investment habits". Activation is carried out from the customer portal, and the client can terminate it at any time.
Shareholder Rights Maintained and Guarantee with a European Institution
According to the company, lending does not deprive the client of control over its portfolio. Even when certain securities are lent, it retains the ability to buy or sell them, participate in general meetings and receive its dividends. Monitoring is ensured from the personal portal, where the quantity of lent securities can be consulted on a daily basis, supplemented by a detailed statement sent at the end of each month. Operations are concluded by Bourse Direct with counterparties qualified as first-rate by the company, and benefit from a guarantee held with a European institution. "The PEA is the preferred envelope for French investors, and our clients were numerous in asking us to extend securities lending to it," declared Catherine Nini, Chief Executive Officer of Bourse Direct, justifying this extension by customer demand.
