Carbios Signs Commercial Agreements in the Beverage Sector
Carbios announces the signing of new multi-year commitments with major beverage companies for the supply of biorecycled PET.
New Commercial Commitments
Carbios, a biotechnology specialist, has concluded two new multi-year commercial commitments to supply biorecycled PET to companies in the beverage sector. According to the company, these agreements represent a significant step forward in the pre-commercialization process of its future industrial site, with a level of pre-sales reaching about 50% of its maximum capacity. Carbios aims to increase this figure to 70% to secure the necessary funding to continue the construction of the Longlaville plant.
Financial Support and Strategic Partnerships
The group also indicated that it had received financial aid of 12.5 million euros from the region, bringing the total public subsidies to 42.5 million euros. According to Vincent Kamel, CEO of Carbios, these partnerships confirm the appeal of their technology and enhance their sector diversification strategy, particularly in the beverage sector.
Future Plans and Industry Collaboration
Carbios, which has had an operational demonstration plant since 2021, plans to resume construction of its first biorecycling plant by the end of 2025, subject to securing the remaining funding. The group collaborates with several major brands in the industry to enhance the circularity of their products. Among these are Nestlé Waters, PepsiCo, and Suntory Beverage & Food Europe. The company emphasizes that the forward-looking statements contained in the release do not guarantee its future performance.
