Catana Group: Fire Destroys Two Workshops at Canet-en-Roussillon Site
A severe fire broke out on July 2, 2026, in Canet-en-Roussillon, Pyrénées-Orientales. Fueled by extreme drought and wind conditions, the blaze reached the production site of the shipbuilder Catana Group, destroying two assembly workshops for the Bali 5.8 and Catana OC 50 models.
Two Assembly Workshops Destroyed, Molds Saved
Two buildings at the Canet-en-Roussillon site, housing the assembly lines for the Bali 5.8 and Catana OC 50, were completely destroyed by the flames. According to the statement, the fire also affected three nearby campgrounds located close to the nautical hub where the production site is situated.
The firefighters, however, managed to preserve the polyester workshop and all molds for the two models, which were evacuated thanks to the mobilization of the site's employees. No human casualties were reported, as all personnel had been evacuated before the flames arrived.
Damage Assessment Underway
Catana Group has stated that a precise assessment of the material damages and the extent of operational consequences is currently underway, in coordination with the relevant state services and the group's insurers.
The company notes that the climatic conditions remain risky and that vigilance is still necessary. No estimate of losses or a timeline for resuming activities has been communicated at this stage.

Catana Group commits to publishing an update as soon as the company has a more precise evaluation of the situation. The group is scheduled to publish its third-quarter 2026 revenue figures on July 15, 2026.
