Drone Volt Secures Contract with National Grid via Ampacimon in the UK
Drone Volt announces that its partner, Ampacimon, has been selected by National Grid to equip a portion of its British electrical network with DLR (Dynamic Line Rating) sensors. The French professional drone manufacturer will be responsible for installing these sensors on operational high-voltage lines using its LineDrone.
Ampacimon Selected by National Grid for 585 km of Lines
National Grid has chosen three operators, including Ampacimon, to equip part of its network with DLR sensors across a total of 585 km of high-voltage lines in the UK. As part of this partnership, Ampacimon will entrust Drone Volt with the task of installing the sensors on the operational electric lines using the LineDrone, a drone specifically developed for operations on very high-voltage electric lines (from 315,000 volts to 735,000 volts). Drone Volt holds the exclusive global manufacturing and distribution rights for the LineDrone. The installation of the sensors only takes a few minutes and does not result in any loss of network efficiency.

National Grid will later communicate the number of sensors that Ampacimon will need to install, which will determine the number of missions that Drone Volt will carry out. This contract could represent a significant amount and will contribute to the very favorable trend encountered by Drone Volt's services (DaaS) activities. According to Marc Courcelle, CEO of Drone Volt, 'These international developments are significant for Drone Volt, which aims to export its unique expertise worldwide. Other similar contracts are still in the negotiation phase and could quickly lead to orders of this type.'
