Ekinops Acquires Chimere and Becomes the Sole European SASE Single-Vendor Player
Ekinops announces the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Chimere, a French startup specializing in Zero Trust Network Access cybersecurity. This transaction, to be finalized before March 31, 2026, is part of the group's Bridge strategy aimed at positioning Ekinops in the high-growth SASE segment.
Acquisition Details
Ekinops has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of Chimere, a French cybersecurity specialist. Chimere offers a universal ZTNA solution that securely interconnects all endpoints with all corporate resources. This technology serves as an alternative to traditional corporate VPNs and firewalls, and adapts to new practices such as digital mobility, teleworking, or third-party access. The solution is offered on a subscription model, available in SaaS, hybrid, or on-premises modes.
Strategic Enhancement
This merger strengthens Ekinops' value proposition in cybersecurity, following the acquisition of Olfeo in May 2025. The transaction significantly accelerates the time-to-market of Ekinops' SASE strategy and solidifies its position as a European leader in this segment. With this acquisition, Ekinops joins the exclusive circle of global single-vendor SASE players and becomes the only European representative in this market segment. The group also becomes the sole provider worldwide to offer a combined solution of SD-WAN, SSE, and universal ZTNA with the option of on-premises deployment. The operation will be finalized before March 31, 2026, and Ekinops does not anticipate any significant impact on its 2026 financial statements.
Leadership Perspectives
Lionel Chmilewsky, CEO of Ekinops, states that the acquisition accelerates the group's ability to become a European leader in SASE and allows it to address new markets with a distinctive offering. Guillaume-Alexandre Chaizy, CEO of Chimere, emphasizes that the alliance enables the provision of a fully sovereign European cybersecurity portfolio and contributes to the formation of a European leader capable of making a global impact.
