Envipco to supply 600 deposit machines to Ahold Delhaize in Romania
Automated deposit system provider Envipco continues its deployment in the Romanian market, where it already equips more than 6,000 collection points.
The Dutch group is renewing its collaboration with two retail chains of the Ahold Delhaize group.
A contract covering 600 collection machines
Envipco Holding N.V. has signed a supply contract for automated collection machines (Reverse Vending Machines, RVM) with Ahold Delhaize in Romania, for the Profi and Mega Image retail chains.
Under the agreement, Envipco will supply 600 machines from the Optima and Flex ranges to Profi and Mega Image. The announcement was published on September 11, 2026.
Deliveries scheduled from fourth quarter 2026 to early 2028
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and be completed by early 2028, according to the announcement.
The group indicates that it has local production in Romania, a supply chain, a research and development center as well as a commercial organization.
Romanian deposit system: 84.8% collection rate in July 2026
The Romanian deposit system (DRS), operated by RetuRO SGR, was launched on November 30, 2023 and has collected 11.5 billion containers for recycling since its launch. The collection rate for glass, PET and cans stood at 84.8% over the twelve-month rolling period to July 2026.
RetuRO aims for a collection rate of 90% in 2026. Profi operates approximately 1,700 stores in Romania and Mega Image operates more than 980 stores under the Mega Image and Shop&Go brands.
